Where We Started and How We Are Going
The National Institute of Electronics and Information Technology (NIELIT) is an autonomous scientific society under the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology, Government of India. It plays a key role in human resource development in the areas of Information, Electronics, and Communication Technology (IECT). Among its many centers, NIELIT Ajmer stands as a growing hub for technical education and digital empowerment in Rajasthan. Until 2023, NIELIT Ajmer had no dedicated student tech club. Realizing the need for a collaborative space to explore and expand technical knowledge beyond the classroom, a group of motivated students came together to establish TechSupernova—the institute’s first and only student-led technology community. This initiative owes its roots to the vision and support of our former Executive Director, Mr. Deepak Wasan, who believed in the power of student-led innovation. Today, our journey is proudly carried forward under the leadership of Dr. Sanjeev Kumar Gupta, Ph.D., our current Executive Director, whose strong academic and technical background continues to inspire the community. We are further guided by our Head of Department, Dr. L. Shyamsundar Singh, a Ph.D. holder and expert in Digital Image Processing, along with a talented faculty team comprising graduates from top-tier institutions. TechSupernova is more than just a club—it's a movement. As the only active student tech community in the region, we are committed to sharing knowledge, fostering collaboration, and uplifting the local youth through technology. We are actively building bridges with reputed platforms such as GeeksforGeeks (GfG) and Google Developer Groups (GDG) to bring industry-level exposure and collaboration opportunities to our campus. This is just the beginning of a remarkable journey—and we’re excited for what lies ahead.
